Summer trip to the Boat

As soon as we could safely travel we did, sneaking a few weeks out in sunny Alicante.  It felt blissful after not being able to travel - mustn't complain though we were extremely lucky to live in the Lakes.  It think it made us appreciate where we live even more.

Flying again for the first time after the shutdown was a little concerning but as it was so quiet all went well.

Look at the departure board - only one of the three terminals was operating, and the flights you can see were for most of the day.

First job was to blow the paddle board up and get out to the nearest anchorage.

Ours friends Danny and Libby were on their boat and took us to the  Fonts Algar waterfalls behind Benidorm, very cold water up in the mountains but what a great place.

We then dawdled along the coast until we got to Altea where we stayed for a week.

Fabulous weather, unusually for us we did the beach thing several times during the week

More beach time

One evening we walked along the coast to the Chiringuita on the edge of Altea. along the seawall someone had "left" these concrete gloves and handbag - loved it.

Garlic prawns fresh from the market Carole's signature dish - FAB!

We also hired some electric bikes to get into the hills - got lost but had a great time.

Finally had to leave to get back for flight home - well chilled out.

Maybe excessively chilled out!!
